LANCASTER, PA: Music For Everyone (MFE) Summer Camp featuring Juilliard Alumni Faculty
Featured Alumni: Michael Jamanis (BM '89, violin), Thor Sigurdsson (piano).

Wednesday, July 31, 2019 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Join Music For Everyone and the staff of Camp MFE on July 31 for a night of amazing music. This fun concert benefits MFE's summer camps, helping our organization to provide scholarships, ensuring that all who attend do so for free. In recent years, Music For Everyone's summer camp has grown significantly. In 2011 they started with 15 students; now, they have over two hundred campers registered for the two weeks of free instruction and fun. The concert on July 31 will help MFE offset the costs of our largest camp to date - in addition to being a wonderful opportunity to experience expertly played classical works. It is also YOUR opportunity to help transform lives through the power of music by supporting the camp.

The program for the evening will include composers who rocked the boat in the classical world, such as Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Khacharurian and Peter Schickele (aka PDQ Bach).

Location: First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange St. Lancaster, PA.

November 2019

Emi Ferguson (BM ’09, MM ’12, flute; MM ’11, historical performance) and continuo band Ruckus perform J.S. Bach’s Sonata for Flute and Continuo in E Minor, BWV 1034: III. Andante at Harvard University’s Horner Room. The group also recorded this work in their recently released album, Fly the Coop, hailed as “blindingly impressive” by the New York Times, which features new arrangements of Bach’s Flute Sonatas and Keyboard Preludes. You can see them perform the album live on Sunday, November 17 in Upper Manhattan’s Corpus Christi Church.
This video features Juilliard Historical Performance alums Clay Zeller-Townson (MM ’13) on baroque bassoon, Paul Holmes Morton (MM ’16) on theorbo, baroque bassist Doug Balliett (MM ’12), harpist/harpsichordist/organist Parker Ramsay (MM ’17, harp), and Shirley Hunt and Stephen Stubbs on baroque cello and guitar, respectively. Ferguson and Balliett also serve on Juilliard’s Evening Division faculty.
